Q: When a ZT outbreak occurs in a region with a military unit, why doesn’t combat occur before the ZTs feed?
A: A region within a territory is very large and it is assumed that military forces would be on the battle lines.  Thus when a typical outbreak occurs in a metropolitan area it is assumed that ZTs would have time to cause havoc before the military could mobilize from their current position and get to the area of the ZT outbreak.

Q: Why wouldn’t players start with any military?
A: Existing military is only mildly effective against zombies. Most of their training is against human targets and thus they must be retrained in order to become effective on a worldwide scale against ZTs. In this game military units represent military that has been effectively trained to fight ZTs and the outbreak. Thus, when a player drafts a military unit they are not only drafting military, but retraining existing military to be effective against the ZT threat.

Q: Why don’t players start with other military ordnance?
A: For the same reason that military is ineffective it is assumed that existing explosives and military ordnance are also ineffective against this new threat.  Existing technologies must be altered and honed to become truly lethal against ZTs.  It is assumed that existing ordnance doesn’t have a large enough impact to be effective until they can be tested and altered to cause significant damage on a worldwide scale.

Q:Why is the game so difficult/engaging?
A: Keep playing.  Your initial strategies likely won’t be as effective as later strategies. The exciting part of this game is that you will usually leave each game wishing you had tried something else. As you learn new strategies, how to effectively combat the ZTs with military, and what technology combinations are lethal you will become a much better leader. In fact, as you become better you will probably need to follow rule variations to increase the difficulty of the game. Also, there are rule variations for a simpler game if you are a player that doesn’t like to be completely overrun by ZTs and want a little better chance of eradicating the threat.  This is likely not as realistic, but may be more fun for some players. Most important, however, is to have fun! Good luck!!!
